My To Do List & The Starbucks Planner

For the sake of finishing all the things I REALLY NEED TO DO without PROCRASTINATING... (actually, I am already procrastinating since almost all of the things in my To Do List should have been finished months, weeks, or days ago) ...I decided to make a To Do List and once I've finished a task, I'm going to strike it out of my list so I'll have this sense of accomplishment. This actually works for me but I'm just too lazy and too SCARED to do my To Do List because I will be then faced with all the things I need to do. So here goes nothing:

1. Ethics Assignment - Nakakatamad! I don't want to do this. For such a simple class with no finals, the assignments are really time-consuming. For this specific assignment, I have to e-mail Papa and ask him for some family history of the Isaacs. I also have to e-mail my other relatives for accurate information regarding their career/work and year of birth.
*currently chatting with Tita Ciel. We are debating over the simplest thing such as her birthday and how old she is. She said 1972 birthday nya. Tapos sabi nya 34 na raw sya. That means 10 years tanda nya sakin. But how can that be kung 1972 sya. Tapos ako pa raw ang mahina sa math.*

2. Submit Resume - I will be applying for this position in our company and I am PRAYING (and I seldom pray) really, really hard that I will be the lucky applicant to get this. Please God! Minsan lang ako humiling sa inyo. Let this be your Christmas Gift to me.

3. Fleet Manual - I stupidly placed in my Goals for the Year to create this manual because I can't think of anything else to do and we need to submit our goals and again I procrastinated and I ended up cramming. Madugo-dugo rin itong project na ito. Status right now: 5% completion. Deadline: End of November. Good luck nalang sa akin.

4. Critique Papers for Infoman - I actually love writing critique papers, reaction papers, reflection papers, book reports, etc. In fact, this was my sideline when I was in college. 1 page reaction paper - P100. Book report - P500-800. Closing line for a speech - 1 Mcdo Sundae Cone. Paragraph for a speech - 1 Mcdo Meal. Ang cheap ko noh!

So good luck to me. This is only a very partial list. I have about a dozen more things that I need to do such as reformat my PC and upgrade to WinXP, find out what the heck is the problem of my webcam, finish Age of Mythology Titans Expansion, update my website, update my other blogs, change the lay-out and design of this blog, clear out my closet, buy books, buy dvds of csi, borrow friends dvd, look for new shoes/clothes/bags, etc.

Starbucks has this Limited Edition 2005 Planner which you can get just by purchasing the following beverages:

4 Peppermint Mocha Favorites
4 Toffee Nut Latte Favorites
6 Frappuccino Blended beverages
7 Starbucks Beverages of your choice

A total of 21 Starbucks Beverages which I need to consume before 15 January 2005! Of course I won't be able to consume all of these so I'll be needing the help of a lot o my friends. I already have 3 stickers (which means I had 3 drinks and I would like to thank Don for ordering a frap!) so I have 18 more drinks to go.

Why would I spend and twist the arms of my friends to have coffee at Starbucks just so I could get my planner? Because the planner is sooo cool! It has postcards in it which reminds me of Griffin & Sabine and the paper and the design inside the planner is so nice!

----
Again, it's already past midnight and I'm still awake. I need to sleep already because I still have work later this afternoon and I cannot just surf the internet like I normally do at work on a weekend because I have to finish a lot of paper work and projects and I need to do them already so I can take my leave. If I were to take my 5-day leave, what will I do and where will I go?

The Search for 99 Secrets

About a gazillion years ago, during the time I discovered the internet and the joy of just surfing, I happened to come upon a site called '99 Secrets' and now the site is GONE! I've searched in Google and in Yahoo and I found out some things about it such as it was created by a guy name Carl Steadman and this guy is quite known about a gazillion years ago in the techie world.

Here's a sample of what you can find in 99 Secrets:

Once she told him a story about a white knight,
and a princess that didn't need saving. A
m I the knight? he asked her.
No, she answered.
You're the person I'm telling the story to.

I went back and tried to go to http://99secrets.com but it's giving me some unknown portal. Damn!

----
About 4 or more years ago while surfing the net, I came across one website by a 24-year-old Pinoy who works in Makati. Since that was about 4 - 5 years ago, I guess he could be in his late 20s already. I have no idea what the web address is and I am again looking for this site. The creator of the website is into writing prose and poetry and I actually got to save one of his works:

...i don't know where we're going from here.
you say you have a pretty good idea where you want things to go...
mmm-hmmh.
first let me thank you for teaching me how to drive an automatic. =)i think i want to do more stuff like that.
i want to go shopping together. watch more movies. and cable.
maybe you'll teach me how to play on a playstation (i think i've done that only once, before).
i want do groceries together.
learn how to cook a complicated dish together.
go swimming.
go camping.
sleep in a hammock side-by-side.
maybe one of these days share an apartment.
i want us to hold each other's hand when we're walking in the light rainto keep each other warm during cold january nights in Baguio
to rest our heads on each other's lap when we're weary
and hear the other's soft murmuring breath as we sleep.
i want us to get to know each other deeply,
to share each other's dreams,
to celebrate each one's triumphs,
and forgive each other's faults.
i want to share your life, and to share my life with yours, even if only for whatever while God thinks we should be together --
and if he's listening, that'll be for a long, long time.

After an hour of searching the web for Carl Steadman, I found his website. It's not 99 Secrets but I'm getting closer.

From Carl Steadman's Website :

I miss you so much that sometimes it
just makes me stop, on the inside.
And die just a little bit more for you.

as well as this one...

I could have been someone you loved...

...but instead became someone who loved you.

Wish List

I wish I had 25 hours in a day instead of the usual 24.
I wish I could do a hundred things at the same time.
I wish I could be in two places at the same time.
I wish I have a Honda CRV.
I wish I could eat anything I want and not gain a pound.
I wish I could NOT exercise and still have a great body.
I wish I could find the perfect jeans at an affordable price.
I wish I could find the perfect sandals at an affordable price.
I wish I could find the perfect white jacket/cardigan.
I wish that just plain typing could burn a gazillion calories.
I wish I could go to France just to have coffee and croissants.
I wish my US Petition be approved so I could go to California and visit my bestriend and my brother and Disneyland.
I wish I could get more sleep.
I wish I wouldn't have to wake up early tomorrow morning to go to work.
I wish that I won't be too stressed tomorrow.
I wish I could download Yahoo Messenger in my Office PC.
I wish I could finish all my office work tomorrow so I could just surf the net and bully my officemates for the rest of the year.

Halloween Holiday

Today is a monday and for once in a blue moon it isn't manic.

I spent Halloween Night with Jas and Rica - my college commuting buddies. As much as I told myself that I need to diet and to just eat egg and wheat bread for the next few weeks, I ended up convincing Jas - who is currently broke and owes about P70,000 to different credit card companies - to have dinner with me at CPK because I just love their Chicken BBQ Salad.

After dinner, we went to BF Homes Ruins and found out that it has transferred location already and is now on the 2nd floor of BF Dampa. I have to say that visiting BF Homes is very nostalgic and sentimental. Most of my growing up years were spent in that place and I love Jas because she feels the same way and everytime we drive around BF Homes we never fail to say, "Sana sa BF tayo nakatira."

Going back to Ruins, it's not quite the same as the old one. The cool shops are gone and what's left are stalls selling pirated DVDs. Not that we hate pirated DVDs, we actually love them. In fact, I find myself buying the last season of Sex and the City and a copy of The Notebook. I have to tell you that it was quite an experience looking for the last season of Sex and the City. The first stall I asked if they have a copy, the woman who owned the stall looked at me in a funny way and said, "Meron akong Sex and the City pero di ko alam kung anung season." Then she showed me the Sex and the City DVD that she has and it turns it out it was an X-rated DVD. I said, "Ay! Hindi po yan yung hinahanap ko." Sheesh! No wonder she was looking at me funny.

After that, Rica came and we window shopped a little then we ended up in the stall who sells CDs wherein you get to pick 17 or so songs and then they burn it on a CD for P55 only. I wasn't really in the mood to get a cd because almost all the songs I want I have in mp3 format but the forces of Rica and Jas are too strong for me so I ended up listing my favorite OPM songs in a piece of neon pink paper:

1. Sinta - Sugarfree
2. Suntok sa Buwan - Session Road
3. Suntok sa Buwan (acoustic version) - Session Road
4. Wag na wag mong sasabihin - Kitchie Nadal
5. Without you - Charlie Wilson

I can't think of anymore so I stopped at Item 5. Before I rack my brain for 12 more songs, I asked the girl who burns the CDS if she has "Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin" and yes she has it. Then I asked if she already has Session Road's Suntok sa Buwan and no she doesn't have it. So I crumpled my neon pink paper and decided not to get a cd.

While waiting, I shared with Jas and Rica one of my complaint stories. Last friday, I went to Smart Wireless Center in Glorietta to complain once again because my mom's line got cut and we haven't received the billing statement yet. This is the second time that I went to Smart to complain about their service and the poor girl behind the desk encountered Maan the Bitchiest Customer for the second time around. I was fuming mad and telling her that "I am practically paying for poor service!". By the way, I can't take all the credit for all the mean lines I've used. Some of them I've heard from our own customers when they call our Customer Service Hotline. Haha! Anyway, I ended up paying for the bill and getting our Smart line reconnected again. Lesson I have learned from this: Globe is better. So if you're SMART, switch to GLOBE! I am not from Globe and I am hoping that someone who's really high up in Globe gets to read this entry and offer me a new Nokia Cellphone.

Going back to where we left of which is Rica, Jas and I in the CD stall... After getting their CDs, we went to Starbucks BF Homes (BF Homes definitely has it all!) for tea and water. I bumped into Shiela, Don's girlfriend, who is studying for an exam just like Don. We stayed there at around 11PM then we headed to Rica's place since Jas wants to borrow the Sex and the City DVDs of Rica. I got home just before 12MN.

So there. That's my Halloween. It wasn't as exciting as I wanted to be but that will do. Till next Halloween!

Welcome

"I am a poster girl with no poster. I am 32 flavors and then some..."

Who is Maan?

Very talkative, very frank to the point of being tactless. Major hyper active and super kulit. Tampuhin, selosa and madalas may topak. Psychotic but bearable most of the time. Pakialamera. Addicted to those excel quizzes and surveys forwarded through e-mail. Have learned how to say no to FREE FOOD and resist the temptation of buffets. Listens to The Morning Rush with Chico and Delamar and is a major fan of Sex and the City. Fiercely loyal to friends (especially the under dogs). Can't dance, can't sing, can't act but very OA (Outstanding Actress). Doesn't smoke, drink nor do drugs but definitely a great girl to hang out with (sagot ko na ang kwento). Cynical on the outside but a hopeless romantic deep inside. Tries not cry over a guy but will shed buckets of tears while watching a movie. Escapes from the real world by reading books, watching movies, and tv shows. Dreams of travelling the world someday and joining The Amazing Race with a friend who knows how to swim, ride a bike and drive a car.
