Time Traveling

The rain just stopped pouring and the winds have finally ceased. I was planning to go to the office to hopefully finish everything that needs to be done as well as attend my last swimming class with Thea under Tatang (who we thought was dead). Unfortunately, the storm hit and I am forced to stay home. But in every cloud there is a silver lining. Due to the heavy rains and I have no choice but to stay indoors, I had the time to start with my newest book The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.

I've been reading the book for half a day already and I'm halfway through it. If I didn't watch a little tv such as The OC and Grey's Anatomy, I might be finished with it by now. As much as I want to finish the book because I want to know how Henry and Clare's love story will end, I am also feeling a bit sad that in a few hours from now, my adventure with Clare and her time traveling husband will be over. And I have to look for a new book to purchase which must be better than this one.

Since we're on the subject, let's talk about time travel. If it is possible, would you time travel? If you did, will you change a thing? I don't have big regrets in life. I believe that every thing happens for a reason. That everything we do, no matter how small it is, contributes to something really big. But if I could time travel and if my changing something would not cause another World War or destroy the universe, I guess there are some things that I would change like...

...studied more in school. I've never been given any award when I was in grade school and high school and I'm thinking that if I studied rather than just watch tv and being an average Jane, I could have gotten higher grades and walked on stage with medals on my neck. That wouldn't be so bad.

...fought with my brother less. Now that he's far, far away and I haven't seen him for more than a year, I realized that I haven't been the best Ate in the whole world. It would really be great to go back and just be a little less meaner to my brother and a lot more of a great big sister.

...be more outspoken and confident. Believe me, I was very shy when I was in grade school and high school. Terribly and painfully shy that I seldom recite in class and my hatest subject is Speech class. The student that I am now is the total opposite of what I was more than 10 years ago. If I were overly confident back then like I am right now, I'm sure that I'll be loving Speech class and maybe I'll be on the Debate team. I will be able to stand up to the "bullies" on our bus who always sit at the back and I'll be able to tell my 3rd year grammar teacher, Ms. Agnir, "Manigas ka!" when I accidentally stepped on her shoe and she ordered me to wipe it. I wonder where she is right now?

Yeah! If I can time travel, I will definitely do all those stuff and then some.

Who is Maan?

Very talkative, very frank to the point of being tactless. Major hyper active and super kulit. Tampuhin, selosa and madalas may topak. Psychotic but bearable most of the time. Pakialamera. Addicted to those excel quizzes and surveys forwarded through e-mail. Have learned how to say no to FREE FOOD and resist the temptation of buffets. Listens to The Morning Rush with Chico and Delamar and is a major fan of Sex and the City. Fiercely loyal to friends (especially the under dogs). Can't dance, can't sing, can't act but very OA (Outstanding Actress). Doesn't smoke, drink nor do drugs but definitely a great girl to hang out with (sagot ko na ang kwento). Cynical on the outside but a hopeless romantic deep inside. Tries not cry over a guy but will shed buckets of tears while watching a movie. Escapes from the real world by reading books, watching movies, and tv shows. Dreams of travelling the world someday and joining The Amazing Race with a friend who knows how to swim, ride a bike and drive a car.
